Dear APEX Collaboration members,

Thanks to many great efforts, this last week (March 1-6) was quite productive! A few announcements:

1) The PAC35 report is now available -- see http://www.jlab.org/exp_prog/PACpage/PAC35/PAC35_report.pdf As recommended by the PAC, we're moving to address operational concerns given our conditional approval -- this is the purpose of the June pilot run.

2) We're going to postpone the next collaboration meeting for another ~2 weeks, pending completion of the final Run Plan. We're making good and quick progress in that direction.

3) We will start preparing a shift schedule for the June run. The shifts will need to start May 20 for installation and commissioning, followed by data taking and online analysis in June. To prepare, it may be useful for APEX members not experienced with taking shifts at Hall A to take some on PREX.

Below is a summary of recent activity and current priorities for the sub-groups (areas where help is needed are in bold italics).

Additional Remarks

We encourage everyone to provide us with feedback and suggestions as we prepare for the Test Run this June.

Thank you and kind regards,

Rouven, Philip, Natalia, and Bogdan (APEX spokespeople)
